San Blas Islands, Panama – Lost paradise

The San Blas Archipelago is located just 20 minutes from Panama City by plane, with the island group stretching along the Caribbean coast from the Gulf of San Blas all the way to the Colombian border. Of the 378 islands, less than 50 of them are settled by the Kuna Yala, an indigenous people who still hold their traditional customs dear. The main towns in the San Blas Islands are Porvenir, Carti, and San Blass, and of the settled islands, some are uninhabited and can even be rented for a time. The Kuna Yala speak a dialect of Panamanian Indian as well as Spanish, but their dialect of Spanish is very different than the Spanish spoken today.
